I often look at shoe craft projects and wonder how successful I would be in pulling them off but I feel that these cat tipped lovelies (link) are subtle (and simple) enough to be just perfect:

Aren't they sweet? I will now be keeping my eye out for some cheap flats to try this out with and I'll be sure to take my cat loving to the next level! Yeah!

On a related note - is it just me or is cat loving sort of trendy these days? I've seen all sorts of cat themed shirts, dresses, scarves, and sweaters lately and am wondering if all the cat lovers are coming out of the woodwork or if it's a fad the young ones are jumping on here in Victoria...

my new super power

One of my favourite things about having an iPhone is the option to do group text messages between other iPhone (4 and above) users! It has actually revolutionized my ability to keep close friendships with Lindsay, Sarra, and Hetty and lets us all have ongoing conversations about pretty much anything and everything that is going on in our lives (while being in different places)! It's amazing! It has also given me the opportunity to spam those ladies (two of which are not cat people) with the cute cat pictures I come across on instagram! Who wouldn't like waking up to some hand picked furry kitties to perk up the day? Ok...so non cat people probably don't appreciate it very much but it has become my morning routine now and the one day I didn't post any kitties I actually got requests to! What's this? Do I have the amazing power to very (VERY) slowly turn non cat people into cat people? I hope so! Here is a nice selection of some of the fuzz balls Lindsay, Sarra, and Hetty have been waking up to:

I decided to leave the Instragram usernames up there in case you are must like me and like to follow hundreds of strangers on the internet to vicariously enjoy their kitties (plus it gives you a reference of where I got the images from)! Hooray!

My super "liking of cats" powers seem to be working since Lindsay finally admitted that she enjoys "Japanese cats" which, as far as I understand from her, means "cats owned by Japanese people" and is pretty much referring to all those cute exotic short haired squashed face kitties I am growingly drawn to. Hetty also admitted to me one morning that cats are starting to grow on her (oh, if you didn't figure it out by now - Sarra is already an awesome cat person)! Oh yeah! Converting them over to the dark side! I am also quite confident that Fraser was never interested in cats until he met me and just yesterday told me how much he loves kittens over text message. How about that? I must have some mutation of toxoplasmosis that is changing everyone's brain chemistry around me to be cat people! Ho ho! Or...you know...cats are cute and shoving them enthusiastically in their faces each morning is fairly convincing...but I like the scientific reasoning better. What do you think? Are any of those instagram kitties cute enough to turn you into a cat liker?

Nothing like a bit of fuzz therapy to perk up the day! My immune system is extra angry at my joints these days and I'm back to full time wrist braces and gentle range of motion exercises while I heal up! It also means I'm keeping my crafting (and typing) at a minimum. It does give however give me ample time to catch up on Game of Thrones! Oh my! What have you been up to lately?

Guess what lovely blog pals? I am suffering from one heck of an epic rheumatic/fibro flare up and typing is certainly an extra challenge for me with all this swelling! Looks like I will be spending my time icing and capsaicin-ing it up in hopes to have full use of my wrists and hands soon enough. More Kate Dates!

As part of my goal to decrease the stress levels in my life I've been trying to make extra time each week to go on a "kate date." It is nice to set aside a little time to go out by yourself and do something just for yourself and recharge a bit! I'm also finding that after a long week or illness/work it is just as pleasant to have some quiet alone time at home and since Fraser and I have both been enjoying some peaceful time at home I thought this print suited the mood nicely:

The dull grey February days we've been having make it extra nice to stay in and now that I've found some nice green and herbal teas to enjoy (I was cut off of black tea and coffee a few months ago when I was full of stomach flu) it has been lovely! It also seems that there will be a whole lot more opportunity for alone time since Fraser is heading back to Kamloops today (and picking up work there for the next 6+ weeks)! Oh my! Looks like I'm back to lots of kate date time while he is busy being responsible.  This may also mean an increase in cat pictures....we'll see...

Welcome to the family fancy cat!

The other morning I went to work at the crack of dawn like I always do and was surprised by a lovely present waiting for me!  Apparently Diane had asked Hetty if she thought I might be interested in "insert description of the image below" and Hetty answer with an astounding, "YES!!!" Well looks like those ladies know me pretty well because just look at the lovely new addition to our wonderful home I unwrapped:

Oh my! Isn't he one fancy feline? Looks like you can never go wrong with bowler hats, mustaches, and monocles on kitties and I just love how it is printed on a dictionary page! Oh! I'm in love! On my way home from work I stopped by Michaels to get the $8 frame and grey/blue paper I backed it with and now this amazingly wonderful piece is ready to adorn the walls of our apartment! Hooray! Now to decide where to hang him....hmmm...

Have you met Pudge?

Since I've been a little distant these last few days you may be wondering what I'm up to. Well besides getting over this never ending stomach flu and newly arrived sinus infection (woo woo) I've also been attempting my wedding planning! That's right - as soon as xmas was over it was time to buckle down and figure out some tying the knot type festivities and so far it involves a whole lot of pom poms. I'm also working with Heather to come up with some fun hand drawn invitations and it's been great fun looking through fonts and deciding on printers (hint - this one may involve squirrels)! Even though I have very high hopes of eliminating all the stress in my life and focusing on just being happy (like in my big long resolution post) I am finding the list of wedding type things I need to get done grow and with it so does my stress level! Oh dear!

My solution? MORE KITTIES! Bring on some good ol' fuzz therapy and luckily the internet (in this case - pinterest and instagram) are right at my fingertips to meet all my kitty needs. Hooray! I quickly came across one hilariously adorable exotic shorthaired cat and although I used to be pretty anti "those smooshed faced cats", Pudge the cat (link) has certainly changed my ways. Ahahaha! Isn't Pudge the best? Those eyes, that mustache, that name, those grumpy "I'm going to murder" you expressions? Oh my! I'm not sure how I managed to miss out on this kitty before but she's sure to perk up even my most stressed out days. How are things on your end? Do you need more Pudge in your life too?

It is so nice to have Fraser back home for December! We've been having a great time getting things back in order around the house and even starting the xmas decorating! I am such a sucker for cute.  Fraser has even fully embraced my cuteness addiction and sends me cute animal pictures each morning while he is away.  I even find myself surfing the internet for cute kitty pictures and sit there giggling at all the adorable fluffy kitties! Oh my! I find myself constantly surrounding myself with cuteness and think one of these iCat earphone jack covers would take me to the next level. Just take a peek:

Eee! Boy are those ever cute! Too bad I doubt they'd fit on my phone with its case on (which is totally necessary for how clumsy I am) but if you're interested in them you can pick them up here (link). I'm not totally sold on the $23 price tag on these - but they are certainly entertaining. Under closer inspection I'm not sure I'd want one of those kitties near the bottom with their little fuzzy balls showing...which...is atomically accurate I suppose but nothing I'd like to see on a daily basis.  I'll stick to swooning over the first three kitties for now! I don't know why I always seem to shove too many activities into my weekends but today is going to be all about healing up for a busy week ahead! Infinite Cute!

Happy Caturday! I love any excuse for posting cute cat pictures and this one really takes the cake. While Fraser is away on practicum he's been sending me cute cat pictures each morning to help perk up my day.
