Year of the Crayon

If you're ever looking for new hobbies to take on - what about crayon carving? Diem Chau certainly makes it look good - check out her Chinese zodiac carvings:

Oh my! What a lot of work that would be! I think I'll leave the carving up to her. Check out her complete works on her site if you're interested. I can't believe how she gets so much amazing detail in each piece - take a look at my sign (rat):

Well done! Apparently people born on the year of the rat are forthright, tenacious, intense, meticulous, charismatic, sensitive, intellectual, industrious, charming, eloquent, sociable, artistic, and shrewd. Great. Not sure if I like the description. What zodiac animal are you?

  1. Those are fabulous! I'm a rat too and I'm not so sure about a few of those descriptions but some of them are right on the money.

  3. Holy moly! Those are totally awesome! I actually DO want to try crayon carving now! I think you are a rat, through and through. Ha! I'm a rooster:

People born in the Year of the Rooster are deep thinkers, capable, and talented. They like to be busy and are devoted beyond their capabilities and are deeply disappointed if they fail. People born in the Rooster Year are often a bit eccentric, and often have rather difficult relationship with others. They always think they are right and usually are! They frequently are loners and though they give the outward impression of being adventurous, they are timid. Rooster people's emotions like their fortunes, swing very high to very low. They can be selfish and too outspoken, but are always interesting and can be extremely brave. They are most compatible with Ox, Snake, and Dragon.

I love how it says that I'm usually right! Hehehe! Also, I get along best with Ox, Snake, and Dragon. In order, that means Andrew (1985), Mom (1953), and Dad ('52) and Grandpa ('28). No wonder they all like me best!

  4. Oooh! Grandma Jean was also a Snake and Grandma Joan was also an Ox. That makes pretty much everyone I'm related to my "best match".

Also, my baby is going to be born in year of the Tiger. Sounds pretty bad-ass.
