Even though I've been in Victoria for over two months now, I'm still adjusting to my new work schedule. After many years of night shifts I've switched over to the early morning hours and am becoming even more of an old lady with my early (and I mean early) bed times and waking up at ungodly hours! Since Fraser and I are pretty much living in a retirement home (which is awesome if you weren't aware) I am fitting right in! It also allows me to have a few afternoons free for some quiet craft projects and tea! Perfect! One project I've been drooling over is the paint chip mobile from Say Yes! to hoboken:
Okay, so they actually have this as a series of Sunday afternoon craft projects, but Thursdays usually more productive for me (since my Sundays are usually spent doing laundry and cooking mass meals for the week) so I figured it was great to share today! Yay!
I love the simplicity of the project and how they used a wooden embroidery hoop as the mobile frame! It just so happens that I picked up a whole handful of those on one of my past thrift shopping adventures too! Yes! I'm actually thinking of switching out the paint chips (since I haven't done any house painting in the last decade) for craft paper and I'll be set! Now I just need to justify the need for a mobile in my young child-free apartment and we'll be cooking with gas! Haha! Ok, or maybe I'll put this one on the back burner for another crafty afternoon. What do you think? What kind of mobile would you make?
