Last month I shared with all of you the sweet monogrammed mugs the folks over at man made diy did and when I saw doe-c-doe's porcelain pen crafty feminine version I just had to show you:
Oh my! Those little cross stitch lines are just lovely! She uses the same simple instructions (design, write, bake, use) and voila! Instant personalization! Now I really need to keep my eyes peeled for some cheap (hopefully thrifted) mugs asking for me to write on! What do you think?
It looks great. I will keep my eyes open for any mugs for you. Mom
ReplyDeleteI know where there are a hundred mugs - in your cupboard! Hehehe :) I like the cross-stitch pattern too, though it looks like it would be really hard to do tidily unless you had a stencil. All those little tiny dots and lines would be hard to do!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Leslie, that would be hard to keep consistent. I bet you could pencil on a grid or maybe grid stencil with holes at the four corners of each square. Put it on the cup, mark each corner to make the pattern, and then pen dot to dot it... Maybe Fraser will have to invent something?
ReplyDeletePS- penny pinchers. It's a thrift superstore.
Very cute! I can't wait to see what you make :)
